An emperor’s jewel (2024)

The docu-film An emperor’s jewel – The making of the Bulgari Hotel Roma with the extraordinary participation of an international star of the caliber of Priyanka Chopra, is a look behind the scenes of a great adventure, it is a journey into a project, into a place, into history , and into the near future. It is the story of the birth of a hotel, conceived as a splendid jewel to be set in the center of Rome, between the mausoleum of Augustus and the Ara Pacis, in a building saved from neglect and transformed into a twenty-first century masterpiece.
But the protagonists are also the figures who, with their manual skills, their history and their knowledge, contribute to making the Bulgari hotel project unique: the great Italian artisans, creative and scrupulous, the best in our country, found in every corner of the country and involved in a work that is not only commercial, but is a challenge for everyone, in search of perfection.

People of Ikaria (2024)

I discover the island of Ikaria by chance and really hit me right away. Starting from the myth of Icarus, up to its varied history which sees so many events in a small Aegean island: from the fight against Turkey, to the proclamation of a free and independent state, from the arrival of political prisoners, and last but not least the fact that the island is part of the “blue zone”, where people live a very long and wealthy life.
But what is truly striking are the people who live on the island, their way of life, their work, their traditions, their love of music and dance and their unique character.
The idea is therefore to make it a story full of humanity and beauty that shows life on this island, an authentic cross-section of the life of the people who live on the island.

People of Messolongi (2022)

Located in Western Greece, Messolonghi is a place of great beauty thanks to its magnificent lagoons, unique in the Mediterranean for their biodiversity. Thanks to its heroic past, however, Messolonghi is also and above all known as the “Sacred City” of Greece, for the contribution made to national independence. The sieges suffered in the 1820s attracted the attention of idealists and intellectuals from all over the world, who rushed to the city’s aid. Among them the famous English poet Lord Byron, who died here in 1824. The documentary People of Messolonghi is a story of magnificent places but also and above all of the lives of the people who live here.

The Architect and the City (2021)

This documentary was made during the Covid-19 pandemic’s lockdown to give Greek architecture students, and in general to all those interested in Aldo Rossi’s work, the opportunity to visit the world’s biggest exhibition of Aldo Rossi at Maxxi, the National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome.

People of Sfakia (2020)

Island of Crete, southern coast: an ancient people lives between the Lefka Mountains and the Libyan Sea. They are the Sfakians. They consider themselves direct heirs of the Dorians and have been the proud defenders of the island for centuries. Today Sfakia, also thanks to a recently built road, is fully included in the tourism routes. The Sfakians, however, do not give up traditional activities such as sheep farming, and tell the world their long history through music, crafts and gastronomy.

Palermo Renaissance (2018)

The documentary begins in the darkest point of Palermo’s history: in a dying, hopeless, urbanistically destroyed city, where the mafia rules and has destroyed the life, conscience and beauty of Palermo. Today Palermo is an open city that revives its past of “peoples on the move” and presents itself once again as a formidable melting pot of different religions and cultures. A city that focuses on hospitality, multiculturalism, syncretism, multi-ethnic integration and cultural rebirth. And the mafia? He changed his skin and changed his clothes. He no longer kills, but invests in the stock market. But the dominion over the city is over.

Il fuoco della Terra (2017)

A journey to a land, that of Castel Volturno in the province of Caserta, which evokes sixties tourism, Camorra, multi-racial society, neglect but also historical and contemporary cinema, in an incredible mix of stories and images that the docu-film takes care of weaving together a very powerful narrative journey.
